SAFETY
At Shalom Valley, the safety and well-being of every guest - especially children and youth - is our highest priority. We are committed to maintaining a secure, well-managed environment through strong policies, trained staff, and ongoing risk prevention measures.
Risk Assessment and Management
Comprehensive risk assessments are conducted for all activities and facilities. These are regularly reviewed and updated to ensure that all potential hazards are identified, minimized, and managed effectively.
We follow strict safeguarding procedures to protect children and vulnerable individuals, including clear reporting structures, supervision guidelines, and a code of conduct for all staff and volunteers.

Site Security

Access to the site is carefully monitored to maintain a secure environment for all guests. If you're not booking the entire venue, speak with us about the option of exclusive access during your camp.
Background Checks for Our Staff
All staff and volunteers undergo thorough background checks, including police clearance, before joining the team. We are committed to ensuring that everyone working at Shalom Valley is trustworthy and safe.
Safeguarding and Risk Management Training
Our team participates in annual training on safeguarding and risk management to stay up to date with best practices.
We are working with QCCC (Queensland Camping and Conference Centres) to develop an accredited training each year.
We have a comprehensive Child Protection Policy in place to ensure the safety and well-being of all children on site. Our staff receive annual refresher training to stay up to date with best practices and to reinforce a culture of vigilance and care.
